Core Bioinformatics group

Biography

I have an MSc in Bioinformatics as well as a BSc in Genetics, both from the University of Edinburgh. I have joined the Core Bioinformatics group at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute to gain further skills that would support a career in Bioinformatics.

My MSc research project was focused on building a pipeline for Targeted NGS reads in a gene panel for Colorectal cancer; these were summarised in features for the data-driven prediction of polyp recurrence. During this initial research, I got interested in understanding about the potential of Machine Learning classifiers. During my internship, I hope to improve my skills and knowledge of real-data analyses and applications of Machine Learning models in a stem-cell context.
