BSc Genetics (2011)

MSc Bioinformatics (2017)

Biography

I completed my BSc in Genetics from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

I received my MSc in Bioinformatics from the University of Glasgow. My MSc project, supervised by Dr. Simon Rogers, was focused on predicting metabolite mass spectrometry signals using supervised machine learning methods (classifiers) and deep learning techniques.

My aim is to expand my Machine Learning skills and apply classic and novel approaches on RNA-seq datasets (at bulk and single-cell level) while working as a Research Assistant and also analysing interesting/ challenging biological datasets. I also hope to learn more about the method development process, and apply new methods to extract more information from datasets and achieve more accurate and robust results.

The Core Bioinformatics group is the perfect place for me to gain skills and experience and strengthen my career as a bioinformatician.
