BSc Biomedical Informatics (2022)

Biography

I obtained dual-degree in Biomedical Informatics from Zhejiang University (China) and the University of Edinburgh (UK) in 2022. During my undergraduate study, I joined Prof. Xianghua Li’s Lab at Zhejiang University to figure out why transcripts with longer mRNAs half-life show faster degradation with a premature stop codon. Besides, I worked in Dr. Gediminas Lukys’s group at the University of Edinburgh to investigate the impact of schema-based learning on decision making in humans.

At present, I’m a MPhil student in Health Data Science and working on my dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Irina Mohorianu. My project is focused on the cell type annotation in singe-cell high throughput datasets using supervised and unsupervised learning methods, which extends my interest in transcriptomics and will further improve my technical skills in bioinformatic area.
