Floris Johan Maria Roos studied Medicine in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). During his internships his interest in surgery and the liver was raised and he was selected to enrol in the ‘Clinical Excellence Trajectory program’ at the department of Surgery (supervisors dr. T.M.A.L. Klem and dr. B.P.L. Wijnhoven) and started conducting research into the bile ducts, resulting in his first publication. Elaborating on this project a PhD-thesis titled: ‘Studying the Biliary Tree using organoid-technology’ at the Erasmus MC (the Netherlands) was performed. During his PhD-trajectory he conducted an internship at the University of Cambridge (Supervisor Prof. Ludovic Vallier). Currently, he restarted working at the University of Cambridge as a clinical research fellow as well as being Honorary HPB-fellow at Addenbrooke's hospital. Under the guidance of dr. Irina Mohorianu and prof. Ludovic Vallier his research focuses on modelling foetal development and epithelial plasticity using organoids and advanced computational analyses.
